Finally! The website is back up. Adam Grace, the owner of Graceful Hosting, was put in an unfortunate situation and all the websites he hosted were suspended until further investigation. I am happy to say, I now have a website. I don't know what went on really and assume things are good now as ....did I mention? I have my website back!! SO that being said...too many times....I am now faced with the reality of updating that website! I have new and different candle containers, new soaps and body products. Jessica and I will get together and decide what will go on the website and post as soon as possible. New items made this week: Gardeners Soap with lemon essencial oil and corn meal, pumice and ground apricot seed. Coconut Lime Verbena soap! Lilac lotions for those floral lovers. See you soon! After a busy week of Valentine's Day Sales at the store, I am finally able to post and soap!! I made soap yesterday in an attempt to restock and bring out something new. The Oatmeal and Honey bar is my biggest seller and can't seem to keep it stocked! I made a large batch yesterday. I had to make another batch of Sandalwood as my previous batch that was curing could not be used. I thought using a a red and brown oxide for colorant would look cool! It does except when you actually use the soap. Too much red oxide makes the bubbles red..thus making a bath..well....look like a blood bath!! Ok enough of that. The sandalwood I made yesterday is brown and black with hopefully no crazy colored bubbles! Flowering herbs was the new one!! This is an old bath and body works duplicate that I was so happy to find! It was a bitty to soap though!! I made a chocolate cake! A soap cake really. Chocolate scented cold process soap in a bundt pan. I have never tried this before but have seen others and really like the soap cakes. I still need to make much more but that was my soap day! Thanks for reading and checking in!!

Oooohh! I am excited about this one! A friend of mine asked me to make a coffee scrub. This is a coffee sugar scrub and it is wonderful!! Ground Guatemalan coffee beans and sugar in a moisturizing blend of oils and butters with a little bit of creamy, cleansing soap results in a luxurious scrub. Of course the scent alone will make one want to use it! Will post pictures soon and post in artfire store!

How tacky is it to say how much I love my own creation? This is a a heart shaped pillar scented chocolate and cherry....aka chocolate covered cherries! It was made using the rustic technique. The wax is poured at a much cooler than usual temperature and in layers...giving it a rough "rustic" surface and appearance. This candle smells divine!! Labels: candles pillars, Lights and Lathers, rustic candles I was chatting with a couple of friends the other day and asked them if they wanted another candle. The answer to this question was appalling to me!! They actually said, " we don't burn them, we like the way they look" (or something to that effect ). This KILLS me!! HOW can you not burn your candles??????? I burn them in my shop....the second I come home...even when I travel. I cannot imagine life without them! Not only does the flame create a calming environment, the scent can change my mood. What?? Ok maybe not really change my mood but helps it go in a particular direction. Lavender is calming, while Ginger Bergamot is lively and helps keep me sharp, Balsam and Amber is sexy...you get my drift. I think I need to burn some now :). PLEASE burn your candles! That's why there are stores like mine! They can be replaced with new ones. Thank you and go light a candle. Labels: candles, Lights and Lathers, soy candles

So..yeah...I thought I had some of my worries eliminated by forwarding my website to my new artfire store. No such luck....Does anyone know how to help me?? If you have not read it before...my website is in the middle of some legal litigation, accusation, pain in my astion....therefore, the website is suspended. Everyone that used a certain host was suspended until the accused is found not guilty or whatever....meanwhile, when someone goes to my web address...they see NOW that it is parked at my domain host. It WAS showing a forbidden message but somehow it got this far. I just want it to go to my artfire store until I get another website host and site up and running.

I came in the shop today instead of my daughter with plans of having a soap day! I think I will make a baby soap with calendula flowers and lavender. I need to make some Oatmeal and Honey ( as seen in picture) as I on'y have 4 bars left. This is our biggest seller. Then I may try something new like Femme Fatale or another scent I haven't soaped. Patchouli and Sandalwood is on the list as we are completely out! Off to have fun! Labels: calendula, handcrafted soaps, lavender, Lights and Lathers, soaps |
